Yanka: The Story Behind the Brand

In 2015, I discovered the world of aromatherapy and the transformative power of essential oils in home fragrance products. This passion led to the creation of Breath of Nature, a modest yet purposeful collection of sustainable, essential oil-based rapeseed wax candles and environmentally friendly diffusers.

In 2018, a close friend of mine, Katie - an avid enthusiast of natural products - asked if I could create a coconut oil infused with her beloved geranium essential oil. The idea intrigued me, and with a penchant for embracing new challenges, I saw an opportunity to take it a step further. Rather than simply offering her coconut oil, I decided to surprise her by using my background as a trained laboratory technician to craft something truly unique. The result was our Moisturizing Body Oils, a formulation that remains one of our best sellers to this day. A luxurious blend of organic coconut oil , cocoa butter, and the luxurious argan oil - what I fondly refer to as "liquid gold". From that moment, I was captivated by the endless possibilities that natural ingredients could offer. This is the moment when a new story began.

Yanka: The Meaning Behind the Name

Selecting the perfect name for a skincare brand proved to be the most challenging aspect of the journey. It had to encapsulate the essence of what I wanted the brand to represent: natural, eco-conscious, sustainable, and hand-crafted skincare and home fragrances. After weeks of searching, it felt as though every nature-inspired name had already been taken.

I then shifted my focus and asked myself: What do I truly want my products to do for you, our valued customers? At the heart of it, my desire was simple: I wanted them to nurture and care for you, from dawn to dusk. I envisioned creams that protect your skin, soaps and scrubs that elevate your bathing ritual, candles that offer warmth on cold evenings, and fragrances that provide solace after a demanding day.

In that moment of reflection, I found the name that meant everything to me: Yanka. It perfectly captures the essence of care, love, and nature that I hope to share with every product. Yanka, the name of my mother.
